Thanks to the Family Bank Paybill number, it’s now possible for Family Bank account holders to buy airtime, pay utility bills, and transfer cash from MPESA seamlessly and conveniently using their mobile phones.

All that is possible using the Family Bank Paybill number 222111, which you can also use to repay your PesaPap loan. It’s, however, not the only available Family Bank Paybill number, as you’ll require Paybill number 222169 to reload your prepaid Family Bank Visa Card.

The second option is 222169, the Paybill number for Family Bank PesaPap loan repayment. Once you take up a PesaPap loan, you’ll have up to 30 days to repay it, and you should use Paybill number 222169 to do it.

How Do You Deposit Money from MPESA to Family Bank Using Paybill Number?

You need to Paybill number 222111 to deposit money from MPESA to Family Bank. It could be your Family Bank account or another person’s, for example, a merchant or service provider that you want to pay via MPESA.

Having said that, here’s how to deposit money from MPESA to Family Bank:

  • Go to MPESA and tap opt for ‘Lipa Na MPESA’
  • Choose ‘Paybill Number’ and then ‘Business Number.’
  • Enter the Business Number 222111
  • Enter the recipient’s 12-digit Family Bank account number

How Do You Load Your Family Back Visa Account Using MPESA Paybill Number?

You need the Family Bank prepaid card Paybill number 222169 to activate your Family Bank Visa card, and here’s how to do it:

  • Go to MPESA and tap opt for ‘Lipa Na MPESA’
  • Choose ‘Paybill Number’ and then ‘Business Number.’
  • Enter the Business Number 222169
  • Enter your 16-digit Visa card number as the account number
  • Input the top-up amount (Ksh 200 minimum) and then the MPESA PIN
  • Confirm the transaction details and ‘Submit.’

Is Family Bank Paybill Free?

During the Covid-19 pandemic, all local banks scrapped charges on bank-to-MPESA transfers. So, transferring money from Family Bank used to be free, but it is not anymore.

You can only transfer up to Ksh 200 for free using Lipa Na MPESA. However, for every mobile banking transaction you conduct using the Paybill Number 222111, you’ll incur a minimum of Ksh 35.

Moreover, Family Bank Paybill number charges apply to Lipa Na MPESA transactions exceeding Ksh 200. Note, however, that there’s no charge on the recipient’s account. It’s only on the sender.

Does Family Bank Have Mobile Banking?

As mentioned, you’ve up to 30 days to repay your Family Bank ‘PesaPap’ mobile loan, which you can do using the Paybill number 222111. During the first 30 days, the loan attracts an interest of 6.22%. However, once you fail to beat the deadline, you are again offered a 30-day ‘grace period’ which attracts another 5% interest.

  • Go to MPESA and tap opt for ‘Lipa Na MPESA’
  • Choose ‘Paybill Number’ and then ‘Business Number.’
  • Enter the Business Number 222111

Other than mobile banking, Family Bank also offers these banking options:

1. Internet Banking

Family Bank Internet Banking offers access to various Family Bank banking and payment services using any Internet-enabled device. You, however, must first register and log into your internet banking account.

Family Bank Internet Banking is convenient overall as it allows you to self-manage your Family Bank account on the go and work beyond regular work hours, among other advantages.

Some of the services you can enjoy on Family Bank Internet Banking include money transfers and Mass payments (especially multiple MPESA payments, dividend payouts, and salary remittance)

2. Card Payments

Family Bank offers its customers debit and credit card payment options in Gold and Classic options. On the one hand, the Family Bank debit card allows you access to your Family Bank individual account savings and transact on the go.
