My Ksh 100K Investment Has Grown by 20.21% in Just Four Months!

That is a Ksh 20,214.26 gain!

This is my Arvocap Thamani Equity Fund Performance Update as at 11th August 2026.

On 12th March 2026, I started my Ksh 100,000 Stock Market Challenge, whose performance I have consistently shared with you.

But I did something else.

At around the same time, I invested another Ksh 100,000 in the Arvocap Asset Managers Thamani Equity Fund.

The goal?

To compare what happens when I pick and manage stocks myself versus when I entrust the job to a professional fund manager.

Four months later, my Ksh 100,000 investment in the Thamani Equity Fund is now worth approximately:

Ksh 120,214.26

Gain: Ksh 20,214.26

Growth: 20.21%

And the journey is just getting interesting.

So, Why Did I Take on This Challenge?

Investing directly in the stock market offers high risk and potentially high returns.

But it also requires knowledge, patience and time.

You need to know which stocks to buy, when to buy them, when to hold and, sometimes, when to exit.

Not everyone has the time, knowledge or confidence to do this consistently.

And that is where an Equity Fund becomes interesting.

The idea is simple:

  • You still gain exposure to the stock market.
  • But instead of selecting and managing individual stocks yourself, you entrust your money to a professional fund manager who does the heavy lifting for you.

I chose Arvocap Asset Managers and invested in the Thamani Equity Fund.

So far, the performance has been impressive.

The fund reported:

  • 30.68% return as at 31st July 2026
  • 51.69% return over the last 12 months

This is certainly an investment opportunity worth considering as part of a well-diversified growth portfolio.

But Understand This

An equity fund is high risk because its underlying assets are primarily stocks.

This is NOT where you put your emergency fund or money you will need next month.

You invest here with a long-term horizon and for potential capital growth.

Next, I will show you something even more interesting:

My Ksh 100K Stock Portfolio vs. My Ksh 100K Thamani Equity Fund.

Which one is winning?
