By 30th June 2026, assets under management (AUM) in Kenya’s Collective Investment Schemes (CIS) reached Ksh 948.70 billion, up from Ksh 851.71 billion in March.
That is Ksh 96.99 billion more in just three months, an increase of 11.39%.

Here are the five fund categories, their June AUM and growth since March:
- Money Market Funds: Ksh 459.87B | +4.00%
Mainly short-term debt and cash instruments.
- Special Funds: Ksh 252.77B | +24.17%
Specific strategies that may include multiple assets or global markets.
- Fixed Income Funds: Ksh 228.11B | +14.63%
Primarily bonds and other debt investments.
- Equity Funds: Ksh 5.84B | +22.96%
Primarily shares, seeking capital growth and dividends.
- Balanced Funds: Ksh 2.10B | −4.54%
A mix of shares and fixed-income investments.
Special funds contributed about 51% of the market’s total AUM increase.
MMFs remain the largest category, holding 48.47% of all CIS assets.
Participation is growing too.
The reported investor count rose from 3.63 million to 4.15 million, an increase of 520,130.
Approved schemes increased from 62 to 66, active schemes from 43 to 47, and the number of funds from 285 to 320.
