Don’t just dive into every investment that flashes on your screen or comes from your hype squad.
If your friends excite you with lines like:
“Let’s invest in this new venture — 70% returns guaranteed!”
“Stocks are booming! You can double your money in weeks!”
“Forget Bonds! Crypto is the future!”
“Bro, these credit companies are giving 5% per month. Easy money!”
“Gold trade is the next big thing!”
“Let’s import this hot product from China. The margins are crazy!”
“Babe, that plot will double in value in 6 months. Don’t sleep!”
Sounds sweet, right?
But before you jump in, ask yourself this one question:
“Do I have the CAPACITY for this level of risk?”

Risk appetite is your willingness to take on risk.
Risk capacity is your financial muscle to absorb the blow if things go south.
If that one million you’re about to risk is all you have, and losing it would mean:
Your children are out of school,
The emergency fund is wiped out,
Your homeownership dreams are gone,
Your retirement is now a myth…
YOU ARE NOT READY.
Here’s how you know you’re truly ready to play in the high-risk, high-return league:
- You have a fully funded emergency fund.
- Your sinking funds are consistently funded from your income.
- You’ve locked in whole life insurance for protection and legacy.
- You’re actively saving for your children’s education.
- You’re putting at least 10% of your income into your pension.
- You’re building your lifestyle portfolio for long-term financial freedom.
Until then, leave the high-stakes casino table to those who can afford to lose chips without crying.
Otherwise, you’ll be the next sad story in someone’s investment webinar.
So…
Are you really ready to dip your legs into the high-risk, high-return arena?
Or do we need to go back to the basics and build your foundation first?
