The portfolio continues to gather momentum!

(+Ksh 9,037.68)

When I started this challenge, I knew one thing:

The market would test my patience before rewarding it.

And that’s exactly what has happened.

Here is how the portfolio has progressed:

  • 1st April 2026: -Ksh 8,625.16 (Loss)
  • 30th April 2026: -Ksh 3,151.28 (Loss)
  • 10th June 2026: -Ksh 2,904.80 (Loss)
  • 1st July 2026: +Ksh 2,797.58 (Profit)
  • 1st August 2026: +Ksh 9,037.68 (Profit)

That means the portfolio has recovered Ksh 17,662.84 from its lowest point.

Slowly.

Steadily.

Exactly how long-term wealth is built.

My Ksh 100,000 Stock Portfolio Has Now Crossed Ksh 109,000

Portfolio Snapshot

  • Total Investment: Ksh 100,005.50
  • Current Portfolio Value: Ksh 109,043.18
  • Overall Profit: Ksh 9,037.68

Here’s what excites me…

  • Stanbic Holdings continues to lead the portfolio, delivering an unrealized gain of Ksh 3,400.00.
  • Safaricom keeps gaining momentum and is now up Ksh 2,599.00.
  • KCB Group has staged an impressive comeback and is now up Ksh 1,714.50.
  • Absa Bank Kenya continues its recovery and has now delivered an unrealized gain of Ksh 1,272.00.
  • Kenya Reinsurance has also crossed into profit, albeit modestly, with a gain of about Ksh 52.20.

For the first time since I started this challenge…

Every single stock in the portfolio is now profitable.

This is the lesson most investors never learn.

They celebrate when prices go up…

…and panic when prices go down.

I do the opposite.

When quality companies become cheaper, I become more interested—not more afraid.

The stock market transfers wealth…

From the impatient…

To the patient.

If your goal is capital gains:

  • Know your entry price.
  • Know your exit price.
  • Stick to your plan.

If your goal is dividend income:

  • Buy quality companies.
  • Reinvest your dividends.
  • Give time a chance to compound your wealth.

Remember:

  • Daily price movements are temporary.
  • Great businesses create wealth over decades—not days.

I’m still running this challenge through Ziidi Trader on the Safaricom OneApp.

Simple.

Accessible.

Efficient.

  • No CDS account paperwork.
  • No brokerage hustle.
  • Just your OneApp—and you’re investing in Kenyan companies.

Disclaimer: Safaricom PLC does not endorse any particular shares. Ziidi Trader simply provides access to the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
